OPL are the world leading publisher of books, maps and reference material for the offshore and marine industries. They have extensive experience in market development, market survey, product development and marketing of information products and services to these specific markets.
They have an excellent understanding of commercial opportunities and principles of commercial exploitation of information products. Their publications include various factual databases on world offshore field developments, offshore installations, engineering concepts and vessel registers, like construction vessels, survey vessels, moibile production systems, and others.

Based on their relational network and their marketing & publishing experiences, OPL will have primary responsibility within the EMIDOI project to perform market surveys towards both end-users and information providers and to gain feedback from the marketplace to finetune the functional and content specifications of the planned EMIDOI service.

Within the EMIDOI project they will also provide factual data, documents, maps and images of relevance for decommissioning of offshore installations in order to develop the prototype for the EMIDOI service. These will be derived from their existing data resources and by co-operating with many industrial companies and associations in the international oil & gas industry.

Together with MARIS, OPL will also be in charge of developing the future exploitation strategy and assessing the market opportunities and feasibility for the planned EMIDOI service, thus providing the basis for the EMIDOI business plan and future expansion and full implementation.
