The Twin Marine Lifter concept is based on balance arms located on barges. All subsystems used are known and well proven. Model tests, analyses and evaluations performed by 3rd parties on the concept principle and environmental aspects, have been very positive and assuring. Environment and safety are focused in both the concept development and operational procedures. The TML 12000 system consists of the following main items;
2 existing barges (rental)
4 lift arm systems per barge
3 tugs and 1 anchor handler vessel
1 Transport barge for transport to port or new site.

The size of each barge is i.e. 120x36x8 metres. The lift arms are supported on a skid structure onboard the barges. Each lifting arm is hinged to the skid structure at the centre of the barge. Each lifting arm is equipped with a buoyancy tank between the barge and the object and a ballast tank on the opposite side. Each arm has a lifting capacity of 1500 tonnes. One barge with lifting arms is positioned and moored on each side of the object to be lifted. The lift arms can be loaded to suit the variations in sizes and shapes of the platforms.
TML can be used for removal and relocation as well as installation of platform topsides, jackets or similar objects.
